Case Facts: This matter involves an apparent failure to properly monitor and treat ongoing bleeding throughout pregnancy. The medical records reveal the performance of an incomplete exam, lack of timely proper diagnosis and failure to properly monitor the pregnancy resulting in premature delivery of a child at approximately 32 weeks of gestation. The child has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy.
